Seventeen senior police officers have been reshuffled.

Former police spokesman Charles Owino has been appointed the new Officer Commanding Police Division for Njoro, replacing Mr Esau Ochorokodi who has been moved to Kajiado Central in the same capacity.

In February, the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) chairman Johnstone Kavuludi appointed Mr Owino as the director of the Internal Affairs Unit (IAU)

However, Mr Kimaiyo later cancelled the appointment and instead appointed former North Eastern PPO Leo Nyongesa.

He then moved Mr Owino to the Operations Department at the Police Headquarters where he only served for about three months.

The Director of Logistics at the Police Headquarters Julius Kibaara Kanampiu has been moved to the Inspector General’s office while Director of Training Charles Mumanthi Kyalo has been transferred to the Kenya Police College, swapping places with Mr David Kipkosgei Birech.

The Chief Armourer at the Police Headquarters Joel Mboya Kitili is the new Rift Valley Regional Coordinator. He has swapped places with Mr Elias Oduori.

Starehe OCPD Samuel Kanampiu has been transferred to Kipkelion in the same capacity, replacing Barasa Wabomba. Mr Wabomba is the new Starehe OCPD.

Both Kiambu OCPD Moses Lubisia and his Nandi South counterpart Francis Warui Gacii have been transferred to the Directorate of Operations at the police headquarters.

Mr Gacii has been replaced by Mr Patrick Macharia from the Directorate of Operations.

Others are Tom Mboya Okoth (deputy OCPD Mombasa), Amos Owang (Logistics), Smollets Munyianzi (Ndhiwa), and Joseph Ruku (West Pokot)

According to a letter signed by the Deputy Inspector General in charge of the Kenya Police Services Grace Kaindi, the officers are expected to report to their new stations by November 8.
