Military chiefs have told the joint parliamentary committee on national security and defence that soldiers did not loot at Westgate. Instead the military chiefs say that the paper bags that the soldiers were seen carrying on CCTV contained water. The security chiefs that included Internal Security Cabinet Secretary Joseph Ole Lenku, Principal Secretary Mutea Iringo, Chief of Staff of the Kenya defense forces Julius Karangi, NIS boss Michael Gichangi were grilled for hours. The chiefs also said that the soldiers were sanitizing the safes and not ransacking as reported by media. The Kenya Defence Force has now called for a media conference on Wednesday to further clarify the matter.
