Miss Rwanda Malaysia 2013 Rebecca Agiraneza was crowned on October 18 in a glamorous event held at Kota Damansara, in Malaysia.

Miss Rwanda Malaysia is a platform aimed at uniting Rwandan students in Malaysia.

She says her immediate plan is to promote unity among   Rwandans living in Malaysia.

“We need to be there for each other because as young Rwandan students in Malaysia, it’s hard to cope up so we need our home support and we can only find that in the Rwandan community in Malaysia,” Agiraneza said in a phone interview.

The new Miss Rwanda Malaysia is a student at Mahsa University, where she is pursuing a Bachelors degree in Pharmacy.

The 20-year-old soft-spoken Agiraneza was first crowned Miss Congeniality during the beauty pageant before she won the Miss Rwanda Malaysia 2013.

“Being Miss Rwanda Malaysia means treasuring the core values of humanity. I will use these values to promote our Rwandan society all over the world,” expressed Agiraneza.

The search for Miss Rwanda Malaysia started last month and various Rwandan female students in Malaysia took part.

Other winners include Pamela Rwigema, who was crowned Miss Popularity, Violet Mahoro Miss Photogenic, Elodie  Queen Cyuzuzo Miss Heritage and Justine Mbabazi was crowned Miss Media.
