Movie star Jackie Chan has appeared on screen not to entertain, but to raise awareness on the illegal poaching of rhinos. As government leaders gather in London to discuss new measures to fight wildlife trafficking, the multi-cause philanthropist starred alongside a 6-year-old rhino in a WildAid public service announcement.
Endangered rhinos can count on a new ambassador for protection.
In the video message entitled “Tools of the Trade”, co-produced by WildAid and the African Wildlife Foundation, Jackie Chan appeals to viewers not to buy rhino horn products.

"I think today you look at me as an ambassador. Actually the whole Chinese community, the whole world is an ambassador to protect. You killed an animal, you destroy yourself. You destroy the world. Human are ready enough to destroy the earth already." said Jackie Chan.
China is one of largest consumer markets for rhino horns which in traditional Chinese medicine is believed to be capable of curing various ailments.
Jackie said this trend needed to change even if it didn’t happen overnight.
The movie star is a keen philanthropist and a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, who has worked tirelessly to to promote charitable works and causes.
He has long campaigned against animal abuse, notably supporting tiger conservation programs since 2002.

Jackie Chan is one of a cluster of Chinese celebrities to raise awareness for wildlife conservation, alongside actors Jiang Wen and Li Bingbing, and basketball star Yao Ming. Together, they want to send this message:
“When buying stops, the killing can too.”
