Walcott shares first picture of his son Finley on same day as Arsenal's Wembley win

While Arsenal were locked in battle with Wigan in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley, Theo Walcott has shared the first image of his and wife Melanie Slade’s son on Facebook.

The 24-year-old, who announced the news on Thursday that Melanie has given birth to their first child, captioned the picture he uploaded on Saturday: ‘Welcome Finley James Walcott to the world! X’

Walcott is currently out injured after damaging his cruciate ligaments earlier in the season.

One Facebook friend wrote: ‘He must be smiling about the result today!’ after Arsenal's win over Wigan at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-final.

And in reference to his injury another joked: ‘Congrats theo !! He is already faster than u . Lol’

On Thursday Theo wrote on Facebook: 'So over the moon to announce the birth of our baby boy Finley born this morning.... It's amazing to be mummy & daddy! Love him so much x'

The Arsenal star married Mel in June last year at Castello di Vincigliata, near Florence in Italy.
