AMMAN, April 15 (Xinhua) -- Jordan's Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour said Tuesday that Jordan's government will take all measures to rescue the kidnapped Jordanian ambassador in Libya, the state-run Petra news agency reported.
The premier said ambassador Fawwaz Aitan in Libya was kidnapped as he was heading to work.
Masked gunmen opened fire at the ambassador as he left his house, he said, adding that they kidnapped the ambassador and his driver was seriously injured.
The government is coordinating with the Libyan authorities to identify kidnappers, Ensour said.
