CCM Secretary General, Mr Abdulrahman Kinana, has ordered investigation into embezzlement of public funds in Kalambo district, Rukwa region.
Mr Kinana issued the directive here during a meeting with CCM officials in the district, warning that party officials who will be implicated will be brought before the party’s ethics committee for action.
Reports about the misuse were raised after members of the party’s District Executive Committee complained that the district was yet to be given 7m/- which had been allocated to it while Sumbawanga Rural District had already got its share.
CCM District Secretary in Kalambo, Ms Evaline Chamdoma, said while presenting a report to Mr Kinana that a crisis was looming in the district regarding the missing funds.
She explained that the CCM regional office in Rukwa had allocated 60m/- which was to be equally shared between Kalambo and Sumbawanga Rural District, but the former got only 23m/- while 7m/- was still missing.
