Andy Murray has revealed the first glimpses of his five star hotel ahead of its opening on Tuesday.

The Wimbledon champion, 26, has released pictures showcasing the renovated Cromlix House.

The Victoria mansion, which is in Kinbuck near the tennis star’s hometown of Dunblane in Perthshire, has been revamped to include a tennis court in Wimbledon colours of purple and green but has also retained many of its original features.

The hotel has five suites and 10 bedrooms and features a 'glass-walled' Chez Roux restaurant, overseen by legendary chef Albert Roux, donned in 'French navy' and 'moss green' colours.

The restaurant, which will be run by award-winning Executive Head Chef Darin Campbell, is housed in a conservatory overlooking the grounds and diners can watch chefs at work in the extensive open kitchen.

Mr Roux, 78, who has five other restaurants in Scotland, previously revealed that work at the hotel had been two weeks behind schedule and that his chef was feeling the pressure of the opening.

He said: 'Darin is very nervous and anxious. He is such a lovely man and I am very happy to have him.

'We are two weeks behind schedule but we have to be ready on time as we have rooms booked.

'I will be there on the opening day and for 10 days afterwards.'

Mr Roux also said that Andy’s girlfriend, Kim Sears had been involved in the hotel’s design.

The suites, all named by Andy after famous Scots - Robert Burns, Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, the Queen Mother, Robert the Bruce, Eden - the family who previously owned the hotel, and Sir Alex Ferguson - each have their own individual character with freestanding hand-painted gold, silver and copper baths and 32in televisions screens disguised as mirrors.

The hotel also has a study, snooker room with a full-size snooker table which converts into a dining table, a whisky room, drawing room, nine open fireplaces, and a bar which is decorated with hand-painted gold leaf peacock and blooms reminiscent of chinoiserie.

At the foot of the staircase are the exposed pipes of the organ, beyond which lies the chapel, with room for a wedding party of up to 30.

The hotel is being managed on behalf of Andy by Inverlochy Castle Management International (ICMI).

The group said that Andy’s ambition is to 'champion the best of his Scottish heritage'.

Norbert Lieder, managing director, added: 'Cromlix and Chez Roux combine to truly offer one of the best hotel and restaurant experiences in the country.

'The interiors, service, food and attention to every detail of the customer journey will make sure Cromlix becomes as well known for its service as it is for its famous owner.

'We look forward to welcoming guests from all over Scotland, the UK and the world.'

Mike Cantlay, Chairman of VisitScotland, said: 'We are delighted that one of our greatest sportsmen, Andy Murray, has entered the tourism game and I’m sure he will be a terrific ambassador for the industry.

'The revamped Cromlix is bound to be a huge draw for visitors from all over the world, generating the kind of excitement that Andy creates on court.

'As a local boy, from nearby Callander, the hotel itself has a very personal, special place in my heart and to see such an amazing redevelopment is truly inspirational.

'I am positive this venture will be a resounding success and we wish the team all the very best.'
