FOLLOWING the stripping of three CHADEMA senior officials of their positions, a new twist to the saga is expected today when the victims reveal their side of the story.
The deposed Deputy Secretary General, Zitto Kabwe said in Dar es Salaam on Saturday he ‘will spill the beans' in the city when he meets the press at Serena Hotel.
"Wait, everything will be out in the open tomorrow (today) when I meet the media,' said Mr Kabwe when reached for comment on Saturday about his next move.
The Kigoma North legislator and deputy leader of the Opposition in the House and Chairman of the Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee, said he would like the public to know what has been happening within the party, but would not divulge more details.
Addressing the media in Dar es Salaam on Friday after the party central committee deliberations, Chadema chief legal advisor, Mr Tundu Lissu, said Kabwe, Dr Kitilla Mkumbo and Samson Mwigamba had been relieved of their duties for gross ethical misconduct.
Mr Lissu had noted that yet another unidentified cadre within the party secretariat who is involved in what he called a plot dubbed 'victory strategy 2013' to destroy Chadema by overthrowing the current leadership was also to go.
Commenting on the latest development at Chadema, a political scientist who preferred anonymity, expressed his sadness over the party’s move, saying it only weakened and created more rifts.
"It is true no one can be above the party, but it goes without saying that Zitto was among Chadema's more charismatic leaders," he observed.
