Malema was arrested by the Gauteng traffic department's High Speed Unit in the Vaal(SABC)
Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has been arrested for speeding.
Gauteng traffic police says Malema was nabbed by the High Speed Unit on the N1in the Vaal on the N1, driving 215km per hour in a 120km per hour zone.
Spokesperson Busaphi Nxumalo says Malema will be detained at a police station in the Vaal. Further details are not immediately available.
Malema has been previously charged with racketeering, money laundering and fraud related to a R52 million tender issued by the Limpopo Roads and Transport Department. At the time, he was the ANC Youth League president.
The decision on whether these charges will be dismissed will only be known in April 2014.
